Morocco testimonials...
'Five days on the November yoga retreat in Morocco felt like a two-week holiday. I arrived tired
and tense from the stresses of everyday life and left with balance
restored and every muscle stretched. Having the two different yoga
sessions at the start and end of the day - flow and restorative,
respectively - worked really well and gave me a real insight into all
the benefits yoga can have on body and mind. The afternoon workshop
sessions were a good chance to try new poses and inversions in a safe
way (things that are not easy to try in regular yoga classes). It was
also great to start to think about aspects of meditation and
mindfulness. There was no better backdrop than Morocco to rejuvenate
myself. Thanks Lucia and Jodie!'
- Claire Tilsone, London
'I thought Hotel Tigmi was great...so atmospheric and pretty. I really enjoyed both evening and morning yoga sessions and the walking from Hotel Tigmi was an unexpected highlight. I will definitely come again - dates allowing.' - Sally, just returned from our November 2011 yin/yang retreat in Morocco.
France testimonials...
'Les Passeroses is a beautifully presented old farm house that has been given a touch of glamour with
its boutique style décor. Les Passeroses seems a perfect place for a
retreat set in the beautifully quiet surroundings of the French countryside. I
feel the schedule of the day was perfect, starting with an uplifting and
enlivening practice first thing in the morning and a more meditative/ restorative approach in
the evenings just before dinner, leaving you to go and explore the surrounding
villages, snuggle up with a book or top up your tan by the pool between yoga
practices. The vegetarian cuisine at Les Passeroses was second to none. I had
an excellent time and I would definitely go again.' Davinia Warwick, on our Les Passeroses retreats.
Suffolk testimonials...
'Thank you for a wonderfully restorative weekend
at Potash Barns, Suffolk. It is
rare to find a package that more than lives up to its promotional
description. Before we
arrived we were a little concerned about our suitability for the classes,
both in terms of experience and personal fitness. However, we were immediately reassured by the small class sizes. We also really enjoyed the
accommodation, our own private lounge, friendly hosts and the walks in
lovely peaceful surroundings of the Suffolk countryside. The food did
not disappoint and was another highlight. I was impressed by the lengths taken by the hosts to
accommodate all the dietary requirements and we loved the great variety of vegetarian dishes; also, time spent just chatting. I am
already looking forward to the next weekend.'
Sally and Geoff, Chelmsford.
'I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lucia and her weekend yoga retreats.
The yoga teaching was excellent, set in lovely rural Suffolk, and with
lovely vegetarian food. The accommodation and hospitality were warm and
welcoming, and I returned home feeling restored and relaxed. I hope to
enjoy another escape with YA Retreats soon. Thank you.'
- Rhonda Martin, London
'A great weekend; thank you very much. Excellent meditations, calming yoga classes - my favourite part of the weekend. The pilates moves were - although very challenging - wonderfully explained, especiallly when you are not sure how to move certain muscles! The hosts were incredibly welcoming, and the veggie food superb; lots of it, and a great variety. I am only sorry I missed the cakes!'
Catherine Mayes, Chelmsford.
'I thought I would write to you to say what an amazing weekend I have just had. I can't tell you how different I feel; it's hard to explain, but I live a busy life and really struggle to relax and let go of everyday worries. This weekend, I let go of everything. I can even say that I am ready to make some changes in my life and start to slow things down, and take time out - even if it's only for 10 minutes a day, as you recommend. I even found myself saying to my husband how much he would love it, and how good it would be for his mental attitude and busy lifestyle!'
- Kay Gibbins, Bedfordshire
'YA Retreats' weekends are wonderfully relaxing. The yoga classes
suit from beginners to advanced and are relaxed, informal and totally
unpretentious. Held in a beautiful Suffolk location with a fantastically
chic yoga studio overlooking the farm and surrounding land there is
yummy vegetarian food on offer (and lots of it) with just the next
class, a stroll, read or a beauty treatment to look forward to....I
can't wait until next time.'
- Claire Salter, Essex'Just to say thank you for such a special weekend in Suffolk. The going home bag has been very fruitful too as I set myself up with a mat and candle yesterday and did all I could remember - and felt the benefit right away. The whole weekend was so beautifully prepared and packaged and had quite an impact on me. After such good food on retreat, I even had a new yearning for lots of fresh vegetables, and my house is now full of them!'
- Isabel Lewis, Surrey
'The Suffolk weekend retreat was just what I needed to restore body and soul at the
end of a stressful week. The old, newly converted barns are 'away from
it all' in the most peaceful Suffolk countryside imaginable. We were
looked after very well, with delicious, home-cooked meals, and the
timetable was relaxed and unhurried. The yoga was dynamic or gentle,
just as one wanted, and took place in a beautiful purpose-built studio a
minute's walk from the barns'

Day retreat testimonials...
'I just wanted to say - many thanks for a wonderful yoga day on Sunday. I felt great afterwards, and The Retreat Farm is such a beautiful location.'
- Sarah Seed, Kent
'Sunday's retreat turned out to be a
fabulous day. Although the practice was in my opinion hard, it was
satisfying but most of all fun. The afternoon's relaxation - and my friend
agreed with me - was with out doubt the best I have ever experienced. I
look forward to 2012's Day Retreats with great anticipation - and thank you
both for a wonderful day.'
- Paul Roberts, Essex
'Just a note to thank you for such a
super and energising time - it really was perfect. You are the perfect
hostess and you both made us feel so welcome and relaxed, and inspired.
The food was fab and the yoga excellent - I went to yoga today and was
far more bendy!'
- Claire Rowan, Suffolk
‘Even though I'm a yoga beginner, I didn't feel out of my depth at all. Instead I came away feeling calm, nurtured and inspired to find a class in my area. The teachers were very supportive and I particularly enjoyed the thoughtful quotes that were read out as we practised different poses. Above all the venue is in a supremely tranquil setting, with the only sound during our afternoon meditation session being birdsong drifting in through the open windows.’
‘I had a fantastic time at the day retreat on Sunday; the location, the yoga room and the people were absolutely lovely - and of course the yoga itself and Jodie and Lucia sharing it with us.. a big thank you.
I have a regular home practice and don’t have much free time to get to classes during the week, so a whole day to learn and practice is so wonderful. I have done a few sessions since Sunday and i feel it has really helped me to deepen my practice. Yoga never ceases to amaze and fascinate me, so thank you again for sharing your yin and yang with us.’
‘Fantastic day retreat, beautiful location, delicious food and inspiring yin and yang yoga sessions which complemented each other perfectly. Will definitely be coming along again’
‘I have now attended four one day retreats. Each retreat has a different character and offers a complete experience, with a balance of flowing active practice followed by stillness and meditation. I have begun to notice the benefits of regular attendance in improvements in my personal yoga practice. In addition I have developed a sense of wellbeing and resilience in my daily life which is the result of regular meditation. During my last retreat I really noticed that I could relax and meditate when practising the yin postures, as my body and mind had learnt to let go.’
